As part of United Cement Company of Nigeria-UNICEM’s effort to reduce the housing deficit in Nigeria, the company and its shareholder, Larfage France, has come up with an innovative housing initiative.
5000 New housing units to be constructed
The easy home initiative is aimed at offering residents of Cross River State a unique opportunity to own their own homes.
This initiative, which is in partnership with LAPO Microfinance Bank, will see 5,000 Nigerians benefiting from the project.

Speaking at the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), United Cement Company of Nigeria’s Managing Director, Mr. Olivier Lenoir said the easy home initiative “is in line with our vision of building a better future and commitment to contributing to addressing the situation that UNICEM has launched the Easy home’ affordable housing scheme partnering LAPO Microfinance Bank.”
Adding that 'It is our believe that this project will afford low and middle income earners access to low interest rates loans to have their own homes. We are offering the entire people of Cross River State and its environs an opportunity to build their dream home. This initiative is company’s contribution in solving the over 17 million housing deficit.'
The project is supported by Lafarge France, one of United Cement Company of Nigeria-UNICEM’s shareholders.
