Minister of Housing set to solve Nigeria's housing probems
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has expressed his desire to take care of Nigeria's housing needs.
While receiving members of the Association of Housing Corporations of Nigeria (AHCN), led by the President, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, the minister said his ministry is willing to solve the housing problems in Nigeria.
“The Ministry is working hard to evolve agreeable and adaptable housing designs that would be replicated across the country and is thus ready to partner with cooperatives, housing associations and the private sector to expand on the housing delivery and bridge the gap,” Fashola said.
The AHCN president, Adamu, revealed his plan to handle the housing issues.
According to him, there is a programme to develop 740 000 housing units in five years.
Appealing for support from the government, Adamu said this programme would be available to the 36 states in Nigeria.
