The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba has disclosed there is no restriction of movement today, Sunday March 29, only that security will be toughened in the areas where voting is postponed.
"There is no restriction of movement all over the country so citizens can go about their lawful duties but security will remain high in areas that voting will be taking place,” Abba said.
The police boss said the Force did not envisage that the voting will spill over till today, which coincidentally is Palm Sunday celebration for the Christian faithfuls.
"We didn’t envisage that the election will spill over till the next day but you know that policing is a 24- hour duty so we shall continue to do our best in maintaining security all over the country… especially in areas where voting will be taking place,” Abba assured.
Several areas across the country were unable to vote yesterday March 28, largely due to the malfunction of card readers. There were other problems that prevented people from voting in other zones.
