Court throws out Senate President’s request

Justice Abdul-Kafarati also asked the respondents to the case, to appear before him, on Friday, November 20, 2015, to prove to him, why he should grant their request.

 

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has lost another battle, in his bid, to get the High Court to grant him an injunction to stop his trial by the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

According to Punch Newspapers, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, threw out the Senate President’s request for an interim injunction.

Justice Abdul-Kafarati also asked the respondents to the case, to appear before him, on Friday, November 20, 2015, to prove to him, why he should grant their request.

He said “That the respondents are hereby directed to appear before this court on Friday, November 20,2015 to show cause why the orders in the motion ex parte will not be granted.

“That the matter stands adjourned till the 20th day of November 2015 for the respondents to appear to show cause.”

Saraki has been in the eye of the storm, since his trial for false declaration of assets commenced.

Justice Ibrahim Buba, of the Federal High Court in Lagos, also reportedly struct out an injunction filed by the Senate President, due to lack of jurisdiction.
