A deputy superintendent of police (DSP), Alkali Mohammed, was on Saturday, December 10, killed by suspected hoodlums in the Omoku area of Rivers state, The Cable reports.
According to a statement issued by the commander of 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, Kasimu Abdulkarim, the attackers ambushed the DSP alongside his orderly and eight others.
The officers were on duty during the Rivers rerun election when they were attacked.

Mohammed's orderly was also killed while three officers escaped and five declared missing.
