Army is in possession of Presidential candidate’s certificates – Official

Buhari had sworn to an affidavit which stated that his certificates were with the Secretary of the Military Board but a Nigerian Army source reportedly denied this saying that the military does not hold on to its officers’ credentials.

The Nigerian Army has admitted that it is in possession of the academic credentials of former Head of State and All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari.

However, the Director of Public Relations of the Nigerian Army, Olaleye Lajide has told Sahara Reporters that the army is indeed in possession of Buhari’s certificates.

Lajide also stated further that he had personally seen the records of older and retired generals and that he was in no doubt that Buhari’s records were intact.

Meanwhile Buhari has responded to the saga through his media aide, Rotimi Fashakin saying that the Army had been politicized and as such was making attempts to ridicule him in a bid to prevent him from wresting power from President Goodluck Jonathan.
