Court dismisses Agbaje’s petition against Ambode

The three-man tribunal, sitting in Ikeja, dismissed Agbaje’s petition on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

The Lagos State Governorship Election Tribunal has dismissed the petition filed by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Jimi Agbaje, against Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

The PDP candidate’s case was thrown out after the tribunal, led by Justice Muhammad Sirajo, agreed with the preliminary objection raised by the plaintiff’s counsel, Wole Olanipekun that the petition was incompetent.

Pulse had exclusively reported that Agbaje filed the petition against Ambode on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

Ambode, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeated Agbaje in the elections which held on April 11.
