APGA denies text message opposing new National leadership

Ajayi said those behind the text message were faceless people bent on creating confusion and animosity within the party structure.

APGA

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Sule Ajayi, the National Vice Chairman of the party in Ilorin on Saturday.

``From the recent happenings within APGA, I have decided to speak out, perhaps to calm the nerves of the aggrieved members.

``The party had witnessed too many court litigations in the recent past under the immediate past National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh.

``This obviously debarred the party's progress and through the grace of God, the party survived disintegration and now seeking reconciliation with the aggrieved members,’’ he said.

He said after the successes recorded under such atmosphere by the past National Chairman, the party could not afford further court litigations and factions.

``Now that the party is just settling down to forge ahead under the incumbent National Chairman, Dr Victor Oye, I call on members to put all hands on deck to allow peace to reign in the party.

``If there will be any criticism about the leadership, we should endeavour to make it constructive.

``On this note, the truth must be said that it is not healthy for the leadership of a great party like APGA not to have called NEC meeting for such a long time despite the financial constraints of the party,’’ he concluded.

He called on the National Chairman of the party, Oye to call National Working Committee and National Executive Committee meetings as a matter of urgency to resolve pending issues.
