President will win 2019 election – Kachikwu

Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu made the comment during an interview with CNN anchor, Richard Quest.

President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kachikwu made the comment during an interview with CNN anchor, Richard Quest, Vanguard reports.

Quest, who has been in Nigeria, asked:

“Is it likely, because within another year your president or the party will be fighting in an election, and pretty much you are already in an election mode?”

In answering the question, Kachikwu said:

“Those of us in government are focused on getting work done; the president is probably going to win the election anyway.”

Meanwhile, the Presidency has been forced to deny reports that Buhari is so ill that he’s being fed intravenously.

Buhari’s health has been a major topic of discussion since he travelled to London in January for what was to be a 10-day medical vacation, but ended up spending 49 days.

Fears that the president had taken ill were heightened by his absence at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, April 26, and the Juma’at prayer service on Friday, April 28.
