Buhari won 3, 430 votes out of 7, 214 to beat fellow aspirants such as ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Publisher of Leadership newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah.
