Partnering exclusively with Pulse, My Africa podcast brings you an interesting interview with Hamisha Daryani-Ahuja, the owner of the fine Bistro 7 restaurant, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Hamisha Daryani-Ahuja, an entrepreneur takes us through her journey of setting up a successful food business in Lagos.
The idea was for it to be a coffee café but it eventually became a restaurant and café. Hamisha explains about the running of the business, giving advice to entrepreneurs looking to get into the industry.
She says the most challenging part is being a woman. The idea of a woman in a position of power in Nigeria is not commonplace and she still gets addressed as ‘Dear sir’ in emails.
Hamisha combines her passion for food with entrepreneurial and business experience as she explains her journeys around the world, from Lagos to Delhi, Delhi to London and London back to Lagos.
She also tells us why she moved back to open her restaurant in Lagos because it is the land of opportunities in spite of all the corruption.
