Former Vice President flown abroad for medical treatment

According to a report by Vanguard, Ekwueme was brought to the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu at about 7:26am on Sunday, November 12, 2017.

It was further reported that he was driven straight into the tarmac, where he was transferred into a waiting air ambulance with registration number N605 JA.

The Air Ambulance that ferried the ex-VP out of the country had arrived the airport late Saturday evening and spent the night.

President Muhammadu Buhari had few weeks ago approved foreign medical treatment for Ekwueme.

Aide says Ekwueme in stable condition

An aide to Ekwueme, who was on admission in Memfis Hospital for Neurosurgery, Enugu was reported to be in stable condition.

An aide of the former vice president, who spoke to newsmen on condition of anonymity, said that his boss was responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, the family of the former vice president had in a statement thanked members of the public for their concern on the health of their father.
