70 terrorists killed in Konduga battle

Heavily armed insurgents invaded Konduga town in Borno State on Monday night but were repelled by the army.

Nigerian soldiers have scored a victory against Boko Haram as they reportedly killed 70 members of the group during a battle on Monday, December 1.

According to Muhammed Abbas, an official of the Nigeria Vigilante Group in Maiduguri, the terrorists were forced to retreat after they were subdued by the soldiers who killed many of them and wounded several others.

Abbas told Premium Times that over 70 bodies, believed to be those of Boko Haram fighters, were counted after the battle.

Konduga has suffered many attacks from Boko Haram and is the town where the sect's leader Abubakar Shekau was alleged to have been killed before he resurfaced dismissing the claims.
