Award-winning local Béninois act, Dibi Dobo, collaborates with Grammy Award winning Beninoise superstar, Angélique Kidjo, on his new single and video ‘Ekomole’.
This collaboration is primarily a national show of solidarity and a call to brotherhood. Inspired by Dibi Dobo in Benin, the work was enthusiastically received by Angélique Kidjo and the project was born in Sound Posed studio in France and New York. It was then mixed in Paris and mastered in the US.
Resolutely multicultural, the clip 'Ekomole' is shot in the United States and Benin. Angelique Kidjo and Dibi Dobo gathered around an American team of directors, technicians, dancers, cameramen, photographers to make this beauty.
The US shooting took place at the site of the Art Factory, a framework dedicated to artists, which has also served as the backdrop to musical clips French Montana (“Paranoied”) and Ice Prince (“I Swear “), to name a few.
The choice of Porto Novo in Benin as filming site is not a coincidence. Indeed, Benin’s capital is a cradle of Yoruba culture and the door open on Nigeria.
