2face Idibia Forgives Magazine For False Story On His Affair With A Lagos Banker

He's a man to be left alone, loved and appreciated. 2face Idibia has displayed yet again another reason why he's so loved by millions of people. This time, he has forgiven a soft-sell magazine that caused him embrassment with a wrong story.

After publishing a libellous story, and being dragged to court, Icon Weekly Magazine has apologized to 2Face Idibia over what it termed a fabricated story.

Icon Weekly had in March 2014, published a story in which 2Face was alleged to have impregnated a 'top Lagos banker', who was also his account officer in one of the new generation banks and that, the lady had every intention of keeping the baby.

2Face had immediately denied all the allegations, rubbishing the reports and even finding humor out of the affair. But 3 months after, The Media/Entertainment Law Firm of L & A- Legal Consultants has filed libel proceedings on behalf of  2Face, at the Ikeja High Court, asking the court to award their client the sum of N100 million, being damages for the libelous publication posted on the magazine’s online and print platforms.

"We admit that we failed to verify the source, or contact your team (960 Music Group) for a response before printing the fabricated story."

"We have since discovered the story was false and regret the embarrassment it has caused you and your family."

"We regret the indiscretion, and hereby apologize sincerely for our errors as our reporter was completely misinformed. We hope you would accept our apology and forgive us."

2Face Idibia has since forgave them all and moved on, with his representatives 960 Music Group, accepting the apology.

A statement in response to the public apology, read: The 960 Music Group on behalf of 2Face Idibia would like to accept the official written apology from Icon Weekly Magazine. Icon Weekly erroneously reported in their Magazine published on March 3, 2014, (Vol 01. No 9), alleging the involvement of 2Face Idibia with a Lagos Banker. The 960 Music Group, vehemently denied the story on behalf of the superstar.

Icon Weekly has in a letter dated July 20, 2014, tendered an . Please note that the 960 Music Group offers Funding, Marketing, Promotions, Distribution and Label Management Services.

Protecting our clients’ Intellectual Property and reputation are paramount as brand guardians.  The 960 Music Group will not tolerate Slander, Libel or any Intellectual Property infringements against our brands, artistes and/or Music.
