Iggy Azalea, One Direction win big

Iggy takes home first award as she defeats Eminem.

Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea and British/Irish pop group One Direction dominated at the American Music Awards which took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on November 23, 2014.

One Direction went home with three awards- Artist of the Year, Favourite Pop/Rock Album, and Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group. Iggy Azalea won two awards. They are Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album and Favorite Artist Rap/Hip-Hop Album.

"This award is the first award I've ever won in my entire life and it means so much to me that it is for Best Hip-Hop, because that's what inspired me to move to America and pursue my dreams and it's what helped me when I was a teenager to escape and to get through my life and to better times" said the female rapper when receiving her award.
