Six seasons gone, the show has experienced a decline in its viewership as over 6 million people have fallen out of regular viewing.
The show's seventh season will comprise of 16 episodes, and will air in two parts, with the first eight episodes premiering October 23, and the final eight returning February 2017.
On October 23, 2016, AMC renewed the show for its eighth season, which will premiere in late 2017 and will kick off with the 100th episode of the series.
