Watch trailer for Biafran short film

The film will be screened at the 2015 Africa International Film Festival.

The Encounter

A new short film titled “The Encounter” is set to make its screen debut this month.

The film is set in 1967 at the time of the Nigerian civil war. In the moving picture, Emmanuel Ifeajuna, a prisoner of war is called for by the Biafran Commander-in-Chief for a conversation that could be Ifeajuna’s last discourse ever.

The film directed by Tolu Ajayi is an adaptation of a short story with the same title by historian, Henry Chukwuemeka Onyema.

“The Encounter” will be screened at the 2015 Africa International Film Festival, which kicks off in Lagos on November 8, 2015 in Lagos.

This is historic piece is not Ajayi’s first short film. He directed a thriller titled “Blink” starring ‘Deyemi Okanlawon and Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi. In 2013 he directed romantic comedy “A New You” for Ebony Life. This film featured Okanlawon and Chioma ‘Chi Gul’ Omeruah.
