AMAA 2012 Movie Screening Team Hits The Town Of Ibadan With 'Phone Swap' And 'Alero's Symphony'

The calm town of Ibadan was the next stop for the winning movies screening of the  Africa Film Academy (AFA) organizers of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).  The screening which commenced on the 13th of October has telecommunication giant, Airtel Nigeria as its main sponsor along with, Arik Air and Digi-print and others.

The screening took place at the Theater Arts Hall, University of Ibadan and the winning movies that were shown are and Alero's Symphony.

Kunle Afolayan's Phone Swap features top actors and actresses like Nse Ikpe Etim, Joke Silva,Chika Okpala, Hafiz Oyetoro,Lydia Forson and a host of others. The movie features Akin (Wale Ojo) an ambitious, arrogant, corporate executive and a ‘matured bachelor’ bereft of emotions and the female lead, Mary Onyejekwe (Nse Ikpe Etim) a pretty seamstress who works for a ‘shark’ at Alexis. A mistaken phone swap alters the destiny's of these two characters.

Alero's Symphony is by Izu Ojukwu features Ivie Okujaye, the acclaimed winner of Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) 2009. It tells the story of Alero, the twin daughter of an affluent family, a top law student who is expected to graduate with honours and thereafter join her father’s prestigious law chambers.  However her passion and heart is really set on being a singer, a desire she carefully hides from her parents. She meets a lowly waiter/fisherman named Lovechild who also happens to be a talented musician. Together they have to fight the wrath of her father who gives her an ultimatum.

Next up is the Gidi city, Lagos state. The schedule for the screening is as follows:

1st NOVEMBER: First screening – 2pm.

Second screening – 4pm.

 2nd NOVEMBER: First screening – 2pm

Second screening – 4pm.

AMAA hosts friends, media partners – 7pm.
