Speaking at the ceremony, the factional leader of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Chief Gani Adams, commended Ogunwusi for paying courtesy visit to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
Adams said that history would not forget the action of the monarch because such a trip was last done 79 years past, by late Oba Adesoji Aderemi, a former Ooni.
He commended Ogunwusi and Adeyemi for starting the process of unifying the Yoruba race and called on other Yoruba monarchs to take cue from them.
The OPC leader stressed that, with a united voice and purpose the South West region would witness unprecedented development.
Adams also urged the Ooni to turn "Oduduwa Grove’’, "Opa Oranmiyan’’, "Moremi Ajasoro’’, "Oke-Itase’’ and several other sites in the ancient town into global tourists' haven.
He urged corporate Nigeria to invest on tourism, adding that tourism is a tool that will drive foreign capital investment into the nation and create jobs.
