Comparing reports from other parts of the country, only Gombe may have recorded total shutdown of commercial activities as it was business as usual in many states despite NLC protests.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the NLC Chairman in the state, Haruna Kamara, said a monitoring committee was set up to go round and ensure compliance.
He said that the committee would ensure member unions take part in the strike.
Also, the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhasan Yahaya, said the union directed all media organizations in the state to join the strike.
The strike commenced despite a restraining order issued on Tuesday, May 17, by the National Industrial Court in Abuja.
