Former Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Akpobolokemi, today, January 14, 2016, appeared before a Federal High Court on crutches to face charges of fraud.

Akpobolokemi has been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) along with former militant, Government “Tompolo” Ekpemupolo.

Akpobolokemi has been charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) along with former militant, Government “Tompolo” Ekpemupolo.
The duo are alleged to have stolen the sums of $108.7 million N2.2 billion found to be the property of NIMASA.
Tompolo however failed to appear before the court after previously ignoring the invitation of the EFCC on the matter.

The court has subsequently ordered the ex-militant's arrest.
