Facebook to train Senators on how to use social network

Nigerian Senators are set to be trained on how to use Facebook, Senator Isa Galaudu, the Chief of Staff to Senate President, Bukola Saraki has revealed.

Galaudu is said to have made the disclosure via a letter written to the Senators, according to Vanguard.

The letter reads:

“Senators and their aides receive training on use of Facebook in line with the promise of the President of the Senate to ensure more representative legislature using e-parliamentary tools.”

“This is a partnership between the Office of the Senate President and Facebook.”

“Senators and aides who wish to participate in the programme should please email grsenatesocial@gmail.com with their full names.”

The training will reportedly be conducted by a team from Facebook, which will be led by the African Head of Public Policy, Ebele Okobi.

The news has been confirmed by Saraki’s Special Assistant on New Media, Bamikole Omishore.

The training, which is free of charge, is set to begin on Monday, November 16, 2015.
