EFCC releases ex-Governor’s son

Abdulaziz Nyako was arrested on Friday, February 13, following allegations of fraud to the tune of N15 billion.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released the son of the former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, from detention.

Abdulaziz Nyako was arrested on Friday, February 13, following allegations of fraud to the tune of N15 billion.

The younger Nyako, after being released, stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not be deterred in its mission to liberate Nigeria.

Abdulaziz, who’s the APC senatorial candidate for the Adamawa Central Zone, made the declaration at the party’s secretariat in Yola, the state capital.

“Our party cannot be intimidated; our intention is to win the presidential election and win all seats in Adamawa, including governorship, three senatorial seats, House of Representatives and 25 state assembly seats,” he said.

Abdulaziz is being investigated is being investigated by the EFCC due to the discovery of a sum of N15 billion in the accounts of five of his personal companies.

His father, the former governor, has also been declared wantedby the anti-graft agency.
