Justice Adeniyi Ademola

Justice Ademola was one of the judges arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) between October 7 and 8 on allegations of fraud.

He announced his withdrawal from Dasuki’s case on Tuesday, October 18, after earlier claiming that he was arrested by the DSS because he granted Dasuki bail at a previous trial date.

Ademola said further that he would send Dasuki’s case file back to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Atta for reassignment to another judge.

He had also claimed that his participation in the trial of Biafra leader, Nnamdi Kanu also contributed to his arrest by the DSS.

The DSS announced that it had recovered more than $800,000 from three judges during the raid in which Ademola was involved.
