A suicide bombing in Potiskum, Yobe State has left five people dead and 48 others injured, reports say.
A girl of about 7-years-old blew herself up in Potiskum’s crowded GSM market on Sunday, February 22, Guardian reports
“We saw the girl and we became suspicious of her movement and when one of us tried to whisk her away, the bomb went off killing both of them and three others while several others sustained injuries and are being taken to the General Hospital in Potiskum,” a witness told The Sun.
The attack was also confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Toyin Gbadegesin.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that there is a blast at the Kasuwan Jagwal market (GSM market) in Potiskum where it happened last month,” Gbadegesin said.
The police spokesperson also reportedly said that 48 persons were being treated for injuries at the Potiskum General Hospital.
An earlier attack on the GSM marketon January 11 left seven people dead and many others injured.
