3 killed as Hausa, Yoruba traders clash

The Hausa rider, report said, was told to take the woman to the hospital, but he refused, with the support of his colleagues.

 

According to The Sun, the clash was triggered by an incident which occurred on Tuesday, March 1, where a commercial rider knocked down a woman.

They were said to have insisted the motorbike association, which collects tolls from them, should take care of the woman.

This led to the clash that lasted all through Wednesday till today as some thugs believed to be Yorubas stormed the market and started attacking the Hausas.

It was gathered that they burnt seven cars and killed three Hausa traders.Teams of policemen led by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni; the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, Olatunji Disu and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operation, Lagos State Police Command had flooded the perimeter as at press time.
