"Shoemakers in Aba are currently making 50K military boots" - Gov

Gov Ikpeazu has said a firm is currently producing 50,000 units of Military boots in Abia's community city, Aba.

Ikpeazu made this revelation at the 2016 edition of the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Forum in Lagos on Saturday, October 29, 2016.

The governor, who spoke proudly of the exploits of the Aba commercial city, said a firm had received an order to supply about 50,000 military boots and production is currently in progress in Aba.

“Let me also announce here that a private firm that has an order to supply 50,000 military boots is currently in Aba, where our shoemakers are in production for the firm,” he disclosed.

Speaking further, Ikpeazu said: “I am happy to announce here that Aba which is the commercial nerve centre of the Abia state and Old Eastern Region of Nigeria, is also the SME capital of Nigeria, where young people are in the business of making shoes, bags and clothes, including the one I am wearing.”

The Governor recently approved N20 million for the purchase of cocoa pesticides, equipment and hydrocarbon jute bags to boost cocoa production.
