Presidency says arrest warrants were obtained by security agency

The DSS raided the houses of four Supreme Court judges in the early hours of Saturday, October 8, 2016.

In a statement posted on Twitter, the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu said the DSS obtained search and arrest warrants before they acted.

Shehu said “The Presidency has received assurances from the DSS that all due processes of the law, including the possession of search and arrest warrants were obtained before the searches.”

He also added that “To suggest that the government is acting outside the law in a dictatorial manner is to breach the interest of the state.”
