Nigerian billionaire is one of the world’s most powerful people

Nigerian billionaire and Africa's richest man, Aliko Dangote is ranked 68th out of the 74 people who made Forbes' 2016 list.

Dangote is ranked 68th out of the 74 people who made Forbes' 2016 list.

In explaining Dangote’s appearance on the list, Forbes wrote:

“Aliko Dangote, Africa's richest man, founded and chairs Dangote Cement, the continent's largest cement producer. In 2015 Dangote Cement launched new plants in Cameroon, Ethiopia, Zambia and Tanzania.”

“The company produces more than 30 million metric tons annually, and plans to double capacity by 2018…Other companies in the Dangote Group, which is active in 15 African countries, include publicly-traded salt, sugar and flour manufacturing companies.”

The list is topped by Russian President, Vladimir Putin while the second most powerful person is US President-elect, Donald Trump.

Other persons on the list are Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, US President, Barack Obama and German Chancellor, Angela Merkel.
