Explosion hits Borno market

The blast was caused by a suicide bomber who detonated a device in Sabon-Gari in Damboa Local Government Area of the state.

 

An explosion has occurred at a market in Borno State, emerging reports say.

The blast occurred at about 1:35 pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, in Sabon-Gari in the Damboa Local Government Area of the state, according to Sahara Reporters.

"We heard loud explosions at about 01:35pm. When we arrived there people had scattered, it was not suicide bombers but it [the bomb] was planted at the center of the market," a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) Babagana Iliya said.

Details of the incident are still sketchy and no official confirmation or casualty figure has been provided.
