Terrorist group training with ISIS, Al Qaeda in Mauritania – Analysts

Recruits from all over the world have been accepted at the camp and are reportedly being taught to carry out deadly attacks which could spread across North and West Africa, Fox News reports the analysts as saying.

According to analysts Boko Haram, ISIS and Al Qaeda are working together in training camps managed by the latter group.

The three terrorist sects all have links to two camps in the desert area of Mauritania, according to Veryan Khan, editorial director for the Florida-based Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium, which tracks international terrorism and had a source on the ground in Mauritania.

“The situation in Mauritania is a powder keg very few people are talking about. This is not a travel destination,” Khan said. The only reason to be there from a Western country is to train for terrorism,” Khan said.

Fox News reports further that the links between Mauritania and Boko Haram are evident in the sect’s interaction with Al Qaeda for training and the supply lines for finance and weapons.

Boko Haram recently pledged its allegiance to ISIS and the latter group accepted the pledge giving rise to fears that a partnership between the two is underway.
