Chadian soldiers cross into Nigeria to battle terrorists

The soldiers are said to have arrived in Gamboru, Borno State, where Chad recently conducted air strikes against the sect.

Chadian troops have entered into Nigeria to join the fight against Boko Haram, military sources say.

2,500 Chadian soldiers have been deployed to join in the fight against the sect which operates largely out of Nigeria but has also attacked border communities in Chad and Cameroon.

“Our troops entered Nigeria this morning. The combat is ongoing,” a source at Chad's army headquarters told Reuters.

Neither the Nigerian government nor the country’s military authorities have commented on the development.

Chadian troops earlier re-captured Malumfatori town in Borno from Boko Haram andalso killed 123 members of the sect in Northern Cameroon.
