With these changes, its become increasingly obvious that Apple is doing everything it can to retain its place as the smartphone market giant. The American company has been facing aggressive competition from its South Korean rival, Samsung more so since the launch of Samsung's new phone series which saw Samsung surpassing Apple in smartphone sales for the first time since the iphone 5 was launched. While Samsung maintains a slight edge over Apple at the moment, it remains to be seen how long they'll hold this position for especially as they recently lost $12 billion in market shares barely a few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy S4.
Is Apple Finally Succumbing to Mounting Market Pressure from Samsung?
First Apple introduces iphone trade-ins for the first time in its 5-year plus history and now reports out of Silicon Valley is that smartphone giant Apple Inc is looking at introducing phones with bigger screens as well as cheaper models in a range of colours over the next year. Insiders reveal that at least two new iphones widely referred to as the iphone 5S will be unveiled with a 4.7-inch screen and another with a 5.7-inch screen, although the exact dimensions aren't set in stone yet. The phones will also come in a cheaper casing with a range of about 5-6 colours, a deviation from the iphone trademark which traditionally comes in only black and white.
