As the legitimisation of marijuana keeps spreading across different states and cities around the world, the world’s first international marijuana brand is set to launch and who best to be the face of the brand than its foremost albeit dead celebrity ambassador, Bob Marley.
According to his Wikipedia, when Marley was alive, he considered marijuana a healing herb, a "sacrament", and an "aid to medication"; he supported the legalisation of the drug and he thought that marijuana use was prevalent in the Bible, reading passages such as Psalms 104:14 as showing approval of its usage. Marley saw marijuana usage as a vital factor in religious growth and connection with Jah, and as a way to philosophize and become wiser.
According to The UK Guardian, the family of the late reggae star is working with private equity firm Privateer Holdings to create a company called Marley Natural. Its focus will be on distributing "heirloom Jamaican cannabis strains" of marijuana, but will also offer other things like creams and accessories emblazoned with the company's branding and the reggae star's name.
The company plans to be firmly focused in New York where marijuana is legal and plan to grow and expand to area where it has also been decriminalised by the end of next year.
