Born James Ikechukwu Esomugha on the 25 of September 1970 is a Nigerian actor, producer, ambassador and musician. He was born in Gabon to Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Okolue who later changed their last name. Jim is the only son in a family of eight children.
He first received a diploma in banking and finance before he attended and graduated from University of Jos with a degree in Philosophy. Jim who is one of the top actors in Nollywood begun his acting career in 2001 with debut movie ‘Cursed from beyond’

He owns his own record label ‘Untamed’ and released his debut album called ‘who am I”. The actor who has featured in over a 100 Nollywood movies is also involved in charity as he founded the Jim Iyke foundation for Children with Special Disabilities.
His acting skills and bad boy image have gotten him several awards like Teenage Choice Award, Nigerian Entertainment Award, African Hollywood Award, African Achievement Award and Best Actor of the year amongst many others. He used to be a brand ambassador for teelcoms giant Globacom until he was dropped in 2011, however this was replaced by another ambassadorial position for Virgin Atlantic Airline.

Jim was dating Jamaican model Keturah Hamilton for 6years and is currently dating Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari. Jim also has a teenage son; Mario Ikechukwu with an ex-lover who is based in the United Kingdom.
In 2013 he was involved in a controversial ‘delivery’ from evil spirit behind his ability to get married at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, led by T.B. Joshua.
