President Muhammadu Buhari has honoured the memory of Nigeria’s late Ebola doctor, Stella Adadevoh.
Dr Adadevoh died on August 19, 2015, after contracting the disease in a bid to keep index patient, Patrick Sawyer confined to the First Consultant Hospital in Lagos.
Buhari remembered the late doctor and her colleagues via Twitter on August 20, while urging Nigerian health workers to join hands with the government to eradicate malaria.
The President said:
“President @MBuhari remembers Dr Adadevoh, and everyone else who died; as well as Dr @AdaIgonoh, and all who survived the deadly virus.”
“Pres @MBuhari is deeply grateful to the health personnel, & volunteers, who gave a good account of themselves under difficult circumstances.”
“Through the efforts of its health personnel Nigeria conquered Guinea-worm and Ebola, and is now poised to finally defeat Polio.”
“Now I call on all health workers to join hands with this govt to eradicate malaria, as a tribute to Dr Adadevoh & her colleagues.”
