Robbery suspect says he spent all his loot on girls

A robbery suspect who spent all his loot on women is now regretting his love for women.

For an armed robbery suspect, Sunday Adewole, the love of women has finally brought about his downfall as he could not save any money from his robbery expedition but rather spent everything on the opposite sex.

Adewole who was arrested alongside his partner in crime, Nurudeen Adeyoju, by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Lagos police command, while robbing a female cement dealer at the Ijaiye-Ojokoro area of the state, confessed that the need to get money to spend on women led him into crime.

On the robbery that led to their downfall, Adewole said they would have escaped with their loot but for the victim’s sales girl, identified as Peju, who walked in during the robbery. On seeing the robbers’ guns, Peju screamed, which alerted the people nearby.

Adewole also confessed that his gang targeted mostly female victims but sometimes tried their hands on trailer drivers.

Adewole further confessed that after successful operations, he used his money for ‘enjoyment,’ saying that with his money, there was no woman on earth he could not sleep with, as long as he wanted her, since every woman has a price tag attached to her and he was always ready to spend any amount to get them.

Hear him:

"I once gave a woman N300,000, just because I wanted to sleep with her. I was determined to have her.

I also spend my money on hotels. I have a particular hotel I stay at Mushin. I can stay there for three months. I pay N35,000 per day."

Nurudeen Adeyoju, on his part, described how they used to target and rob the women cement dealers, saying he and and other gang members would go to Ijaiye-Ojokoro to watch the women make their sales.

The gang would pay special attention to the amount of money some women sell for that day as well as where the women keep the money.

"Once we enter a cement shop, we would order all the people in the shop to lie face down. We will collect the money and ride away on our motorcycle.

On the day we were arrested, I had already collected N200,000 and was searching for more money and gold when one of her salesgirls walked in."

A police investigator also narrated the modus operandi of the gang:

"The dealers used to keep money in car boots. The suspects monitor those with a lot of sales. Adewole is the motorcycle rider for the gang. He has a locally-made gun.

Once the road is free, the gang goes straight to the dealer. The gang will whip out guns and demand for the trader’s money.

According to their confession, they also rob trailer drivers and conductors who parked along the road at night. If they make enough money from the cement dealers, they won’t rob for the next three months.

The biggest money they had made from robbing cement dealers in a particular month was N3.4 million."
