A man identified by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as a serial fraudster, Olalekan Bello, was on Monday, November 23, remanded in the Kirikiri Maximum Prison by the Lagos State High Court presided over by Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo, after he was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on stealing and forgery.

According to the anti-graft agency, one Owolabi Olusegun had written a petition to it alleging that Bello had duped him of the said sum for a parcel of land in Iroko Estate, Idimu, Lagos, which he later realised to be a scam as the land did not belong to him as he claimed.

When the charges were read to him, Bello pleaded not guilty. Justice Lawal-Akapo, thereafter adjourned the case to December 2, 2015, for hearing of the bail application while ordering Bello be remanded in prison.
