26-year-old Toba Afolasade who allegedly raped and murdered a 16-year-old girl, Adejoke Olalekan, in Ondo State, has been remanded in prison costudy pending when his case would be determined on August 19, 2015.
The Akure Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Oke-Eda, the state capital, presided by Magistrate Victoria Bob-Manuel, did not take the plea of the accused who was arraigned on a two count charge of murder and unlawfully having carnal knowledge of the victim.
The police prosecutor, Supol Isah Atanegbe told the court that the accused person committed the offence at Idi-Araba camp road, Ijegun via Ile-oluji, Ondo State on June 26, 2015.
Afolasade was said to have strangled the girl after raping her several times to prevent her telling anyone of the crime.
