The dreaded and violet Islamic insurgent sect, Boko Haram, has boasted that it will take over the whole of the north east part of Nigeria in the next two months and that the Nigerian military cannot stop its determination.
The terrorist sect which has succeeded in seizing several towns in the North-Eastern region of the country, killing hundreds and leaving thousands of residents fleeing for their safety, said, through its leader, Sheikh Abubakar Shekau in a new video, that it is determined to capture the whole of the region and institute its government and that no force can stop them.
The militant group has, in the past few weeks, captured and taken control of towns like Gwoza, Buni Yadi, Gamboru Ngala, Damboa, Marte, Bama, Bara, Banki, in Borno and Yobe States, while over the last weekend, they also took over the towns of Gulak, Dikwa and Madagali, in Adamawa State.
The ease with they took over these towns may have given them the impetus to make the statement, declaring that they have what it takes to advance to other towns and cities and take them over, while also stating that the Nigerian military cannot stop them.
However, the Nigerian military says it has what it takes to run the insurgents aground. In a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, the army is doing everything to recapture the seized towns from the outlaws.
“Everything will be done to reverse the situation and defeat the rampaging terrorists. It is necessary to reassure all that the Nigerian Armed Forces is more than ever determined and committed to the defence of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria, regardless of any odds.
It is not only the pride and reputation of the military that is at stake but that of the entire nation.”
