NDLEA saves Nigerian drug trafficker from death in Malaysia

A female trafficker who was smuggling drugs to Malaysia, a country where the crime carries a death sentence, has been saved after the NDLEA arrested her on her way.

But for her arrest by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), a professional dancer turned drug trafficker, Deborah Chidinma Okafor, certain death through execution could have awaited her if she had succeeded in smuggling drugs to Malaysia, a country where Nigerians found with drugs are summarily executed.

The young lady was apprehended on her way to that country for a performance with an unnamed musician and was caught at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, with drugs weighing over 25.25kg.
