A Pulse reader wants to know if there is anything wrong in marrying someone who has a different religion.
My name is . I am from Imo State but I was born and brought up in Kano State and I like to call myself a detribalised Nigerian because almost all my friends are from the North and I know the culture very well.
I am 29-years-old and I am in love with a man who is a Muslim but my parents have sworn that they will never give their blessing to a marriage between us.
is a very liberal man and he has promised that he would never stop me from continuing in my religion when we are married. His parents too are not opposed to hisbut my father especially, would not even give the idea a second thought.
I love Ahmed with the whole of my heart and if my parents would not give us their blessings, I would prefer remaining a spinter rather than marry another man.
How do I go about convincing my parents to allow me follow my heart?
