It's been a morning of total chaos and confusion along the ever-busy Ikorodu road, Lagos after soldiers took over the expressway after one of their colleagues was knocked down by a BRT bus.
Said soldier was believed to have been riding his motorcycle along the BRT lane on Ikorodu road when he was knocked down by a BRT bus. In no time at all, soldiers quickly took over the expressway stopping BRT buses from passing and generally making movement along Ikorodu road impossible.
According to our Pulse reporter who was on the scene of the incident, soldiers mounted a road block of sorts from the Obanikoro area all the way through to Fadeyi. They also limited the movement of yellow buses and cars in general assaulting whomever seemed to go against their orders. There was also release of tear gas at some point. Meanwhile the soldiers have also vehemently refused people from taking pictures as several people including a lady was severely beaten and her ipad smashed for trying to take pictures
As a result of all of this commotion, there is heavy gridlock around the Yaba/Oyingbo axis coming towards the island as motorists have sought alternative means of commuting.
