Residents of Nelson Mandela Street in Calabar South local government area of Cross River State, has been thrown into confusion after it was discovered that a young man stabbed a girl identified as Queen, to death over a mobile phone, reports CrossRiverWatch.
The online news portal reports that a friend of the victim had collected her phone to help recharge the battery at her boyfriend's, (the suspect) place. Her boyfriend however was said to have collected the phone and refused to hand it over even when he was told the phone belonged to someone else.
After much entreaties by the deceased to get her phone back, she reportedly went with her friend to confront the man to return her phone but that request turned fatal as the man allegedly stabbed her to death during and argument that ensued between them, before he fled the scene.
He also stabbed his girlfriend and left the two ladies unconscious though his girlfriend survived the attack.
The family of the late Queen reacted swiftly by picking her corpse and dumping it at the family house of the fleeing suspect located at Forsbery Street, Calabar.
