11 youths, mostly students of the National High School, Eket, Akwa Ibom State, are now in police custody for gang-raping a 19-year-old girl, Adiaeyo Effiong, in Esit Eket local government area of the state.
The young men who paraded by the state Commissioner of Police, Gabriel Achong, at the Police Command headquarters in Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo, confessed that they abducted the girl when she ran an errand for her mother, took her to their room and took turns in raping her.
The suspects who are between 16 and 18 years, are said to be members of a cult group.
They told the police that they had never met the victim before the incident.
"Yes, we all raped her. She did nothing to us. She never crossed our path before that day. We did it for the fun of it."
