'My husband sniffs my private parts anytime I come home' - Wife

A divorce seeking woman has told a court that her husband sniffs her private part to see if she slept with other men.

One Sidikat Oseni, a 28-year-old married woman has asked an Ikorodu Customary Court sitting in Lagos State, to annul her four year old marriage to her husband, Waheed, because he always forces her to open her private parts for him for sniff and check anytime she comes home from an outing to see if she had slept with another man.

The mother of two who resides at Ajose Road in Agric Area of Ikorodu, further told the court that apart from not trusting her, Oseni maltreats and beats her at every provocation her and does not care for the children the marriage has produced.

"Anytime I come back home late, my husband he beats me and tears my cloth, it is our neighbours that usually cover my nakedness.

He also inspects my private part; he usually asks me to open my honey pot to see if I have gone to sleep with other men.

I have reported him to his family but he refused to desist from this maltreatment. For this reasons, I don’t want to continue with the marriage again."

Her 50-year-old husband would not take the accusation lying low, as he also told his own side of the cause of their marital problems.

"My wife is disrespectful, she does not listen to my words, she also comes home late and was preparing my meals late. I am fed up with the marriage too, separate us."

The President of the court, Olu Adebiyi, had no choice but to dissolve the marriage since it was very clear that both parties did not love each again and could no longer continue living as husband and wife, despite efforts by the court and their families to reconcile them.
