According to a Twitter user, Sandra Sandygold, who witnessed the gory scene and posted on her handle, the man and two others had burgled a house in the area and stole the items and were about escaping when an alarm was raised by someone who saw them.
While his two companions managed to escape, the victim was not that lucky as he was caught by the mob and they descended on him, beating him with all manners of weapons, before he was finally burnt to death.

But should this kind of jungle justice be encouraged in a country where politicians steal billions of naira and are eulogised, given chieftancy titles and honoured?
