According to eyewitnesses, the suspect was on a motorcycle when he spotted the little girl walking with her mother along a street at Beckley's Estate in the area, when he jumped down from the bike, snatched the girl and jumped back on the steaming motorcycle but luck ran out on him before he escape as the mother of the child raised the alarm which drew other passerby who chased and apprehended him before he could escape.

It was reported that when the kidnapper realized that there was no way he could escape from the mob, he threw the child from the bike with the hope that his pursuers would stop chasing him but the chasers continued to be on his trail till he was eventually caught.

Trust Lagosians! The suspect was stripped naked and given the beating of his life while the injured girl was taken to the hospital. It was the arrival of policemen from the Oko Oba Division that rescued him and whisked him away.
