Angry youths set robbers ablaze in Kogi

An eyewitness account says, the villagers untied to bring an end to the attacks they have endured in the hands of the suspected robbers by coming out in large number to depend their community.

It was the day of doom forthree suspected armed robbers caught by the youths in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to Nations, the robbers, numbering five, have always terrorise the community with their never-ending attacks they had taking over the road and began robbing commuters before the angry youths appeared on the scene.

The robbers were over-powered by the angry youth who in the end was able to catch three of the suspected robbers and without hesitation stoned and burnt them to death.

“The villagers came out in their numbers and, in the process, seized their guns before crushing three of them to death with heavy stones, clubs and other dangerous weapons. Two of the armed robbers escaped into the bush while three were burnt to ashes after they were given the beating of their lives.” Says an eyewitness

Confirming the incident which took place on Friday (29 January) by The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Williams Aya , the police have commenced investigation into three dead bodies found on the road.
